Origin

The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever evolved in Nova Scotia that is Scotland. People brought this breed to Scotland and there this breed was mixed with many hunting breeds and many retrievers. The name of this breed before was Little River Duck Dog. In 1950 this breed was recognized.

General Description

The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is average sized and has a well developed figure. They are strong and have a stout and strong body. They have a large head and a round shaped long muzzle with a brown coloured nose at the tip. Their eyes are almond shaped and black and they are set wide apart. The Nova has a broad neck and full of fur and they have well proportioned straight limbs and stocky legs. They have a broad chest which touches the shoulders and a level backside. Their tail is long and furry and their ears are pendant shaped and they hang by their head.

The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is very playful and very enthusiastic. They love to work and love to play. They are very intelligent and soothing in nature. They love kids too much and they are very good to them. They are also good to other pets and strangers. They love human companionship to a great level and love to stay with their family.
