Origin

People say that the origin of the Goldendoodle and the labradoodle have a link. The Labradoodle was created in Australia. The breeding of the Labradoodle was very successful and the Golden doodle is a smaller size. This breed is very useful to people who are affected by allergies. They are good guides also. In the 1990 they were very popular in North America and Australia and they prove to be great companions of human beings.

General Description

The Goldendoodle is a small sized breed with a very cute in appearance. they are stout but not bulky. They have small round head with two big, round and black eye set apart. The Golden doodle has a small muzzle with a large black nose on the tip. The fur on the muzzle is such that it looks like beard.. they have pendant shaped ears hanging by their head. The breed has a round shaped body which looks like a soft ball and it has muscular small limbs and legs. They have curly fur all over their body and they are mainly found in colours like cafe, silver, black, red etc.

Character

The Goldendoodle is very intelligent and sweet by nature. The reason behind their intelligence is that they have the characteristic of the poodle as well as the retriever also, and both these breeds are intelligent ones. The Goldendoodle is very much fond of human interaction and they prove to be great companions. They love to stay with the family and be a part of it. They behave great with children and they are also good to other pets. This breed should not be left alone for a large time as they might get frustrated in such situations. They are quick learners and so training is easy. They do not bark much but when they see someone all of a sudden they would react.

Temperament

The Goldendoodle has a very sweet temperament and is very gentle by nature. They are too intelligent by nature and love human contact very much. They love to stay with the family and you should not leave them alone for a long time. The Golden doodle is very friendly to the children and also good to other pets. The Goldendoodle does not have the nasty habit of biting. Generally they are well behaved but sometimes due to poor breeding they may have strange characteristics. Early socialization and training classes are required.

Training

Goldendoodles are always very eager to learn and training them is very easy. They should not be handled with harsh methods. They should be treated politely.

Health

This breed is affected by the same diseases as the Golden Retriever and the poodle. They may affected by hip dysplasia and eye cataract. Their living rate is 9-15 years.
