Origin
This breed evolved in Germany and it is said that it is the germen secret. The German Pinscher proves to be a wonderful companion. This breed is very rare and it is very enthusiastic and has a great deal of stamina. Very lively by nature and loves to bark. It is easy to train as they response well. Sometimes this dogs are very stubborn so they must be handed firmly.
General Description
The German Pinscher looks exactly same as a Doberman but thery are different at their characteristics and their size is also different. They have a small round head and it has a narrow pointed muzzle with a black nose at the tip. The German Pinscher has round black eyes and they have two straight ears standing straight on their head which can also be cropped . They have a high thin neck with a thin body structure. They have rounded paws like a cat and thin limbs. They have short coat on their body covered with thin fur and mainly found in colours like red, fawn, brown etc.
Character
The German Pinschers are very much alert and love to play. They are always enthusiastic and restless. This breed is very much devoted and loyal to their families. They do not mix with strangers well. German Pinschers require early socialization classes. If socialized properly they would be excellent to children and other pets also. They are protective by nature and not at all recommended for novice owners. This breed is generally very protective of their food so the master should handle the dog with real heavy hands. They often bark to make their family aware of anything that they smell a threat.
Temperament
The German Pinscher proves to be an excellent companion. This breed has a great sense of humour, they are very brave and also enthusiastic at the same time. It is a lively dog and loves to bark a lot. They bark at everything from which they get the smell of threat. These dogs are obedient and it is not that tough to train them. At some point of times they can behave in a stubborn manner and so their master should be dominant. They are very protective of their food and belongings. They must be handled firmly. They have a tendency of being aggressive towards other dogs but if trained properly then they would get rid of this. The German Pinscher is good to children but they may not mix with strangers well.
Training
The German Pinscher is very intelligent but stubborn at times so they need to be handled a bit firmly. But harsh and heavy handed methods are not recommended. They should be trained with consistency , firmness and fairness.
Health
Strange part is that this is a very healthy breed and their average life span is 12-14 years.
