General Description
It is a very small dog, very tiny in size just about 6 inches high but still it has an average stout figure and its body is enough muscular. By saying muscular I don’t mean like large breeds but comparing to its size its structure is graceful. Their length is greater than their height. The Chihuahua has thin sickle and tiny limbs. They have a thin tail slightly curved at the tip. They have a small apple like head slightly flat at the top with small tiny muzzle. Its muzzle is pointed and has black nose on the tip. Chihuahuas have a small head but their eyes are large and round in shape. The eye colour is dark, sometimes brown and also ruby. Their ears are large and triangular in shape which stand straight over their head. The Chihuahua has a short silky coat which is found in many colours like fawn, sand, silver etc. They may also be found in black and white.

This breed love to stay as individuals and are independent in nature. Chihuahuas are very energetic and beautiful. It is very lively and alert in nature. This breed always has a proud expression on the face. The Chihuahua proves to be a great companion. They are very much affectionate and gentle. They are very devoted and loyal to their master. Though they are very small in size they are not at all less in courage than other breeds. The Chihuahua has a great determination about anything. These dogs are very jealous and possessive regarding their masters or owners. They do not like strangers at house. It is difficult to train this breed but due to their intelligence and fast learning attitude it is generally easy to train them. These dogs are good to children but they may become aggressive if they are teased or disturbed. They may even bite if threatened. The Chihuahua is not at all god to other pets.
Temperament
This is a lovely breed, independent in nature but they are very loyal and devoted to their families. The Chihuahua is basically a one master dog. They mostly obey one in the family. It is a very energetic breed, playful and love human companionship very much. In spite of being small in size they are brave and very protective of their masters. They love getting human attention a lot. The Chihuahua is very alert and have a negative attitude towards strangers. this makes the Chihuahua a great watch dog. Not at all recommended for children as they might get furious or even bite if they are teased and threatened. They may be totally aggressive towards other pets. The Chihuahua should be trained properly from early age.
Training
As I told before the Chihuahua is intelligent but they are really difficult to train due to their stubborn and independent nature. But if the training is done with consistency, patience and fairness then better results are expected. This breed require socialization classes from an early age.
